19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional championship, took control to force a third set.
He rescued four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
